The original Railmaster was launched in 1957 for professionals working on the railways. For this modern update, has retained that same timeless look while updating the design with a new colour and a modern standard of precision.
The symmetrical 38 mm case is brushed and polished, and is presented on a golden brown Novonappa leather strap. In keeping with the original Railmaster’s easy-to-read display, the dial of this model is beige with a black gradient, and features large numerals and hour markers in vintage Super-LumiNova. There is also a Small Seconds display placed at 6 o’clock, which includes a beige varnished hand.
This watch continues the Railmaster’s legacy of anti-magnetism, courtesy of the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8804. The movement is resistant to magnetism up to 15,000 gauss, and can be viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal on the caseback.
- Anti-magnetic
The movement is unaffected by exposure to strong magnetic fields, even those greater than 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss).
- Chronometer
Label given to a watch which has undergone precision tests and received a certificate from an official body (COSC).
- Master Chronometer Certified
Guaranteeing the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic-resistance, as set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
- Small seconds
A hand on a sub-dial which tracks seconds typically it completes a full rotation in one minute.
- Transparent caseback
A transparent caseback – frequently made of sapphire – makes it possible to see the movement inside the watch.
